Southend Lane was closed both ways for nearly two and a half hours today after a serious collision, sparking long traffic delays.
Crash Causes Major Disruption
- The crash happened around noon on October 8.
- Emergency services rushed to the scene near Firhill Road, close to Ladbrokes.
- Southend Lane remained blocked until about 2:30pm when the accident was finally cleared.
- Traffic congestion stretched half a mile either side, causing chaos for commuters.
Woman Taken to Hospital as Priority
A female patient involved in the crash was treated on site and rushed to hospital as a priority.
“We were called at noon to reports of a road traffic collision in Southend Lane, SE6. An ambulance crew treated a patient and took her to hospital urgently,” said a London Ambulance Service spokesperson.
Her current condition remains unknown.
Police and Emergency Services Respond
The police/" title="Metropolitan Police" rel="nofollow">Metropolitan Police have yet to release further details. Emergency crews worked swiftly to clear the scene, restoring normal traffic flow by mid-afternoon.
