A man is in hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries following a collision involving a moped in Butterworth Street, Swindon, in the early hours of this morning.
Witnesses can contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597, quoting log number 8 of today’s date. Alternatively, they can email the team directly at [email protected].
In accordance with protocol, Wiltshire Police have made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to police contact with the moped rider prior to the incident. The IOPC will be conducting an independent investigation to ensure transparency and accountability.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police stated: “Our thoughts are with the injured man and his family at this difficult time. We are committed to thoroughly investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident and urge anyone with information to come forward.”
