Murder Investigation Launched In Gillingham After Woman Is Stabbed Multiple Times

Gillingham man charged with murder

 

Detectives investigating the death of a woman in Gillingham have charged a man with murder.

Kent Police was called at 4.51pm on Thursday 16 January 2020 to a property in Richmond Road, Gillingham. The South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended and a 39-year-old woman was declared deceased at the scene.

At 5.05pm, Benjamin Bowler, aged 40, of Richmond Road, Gillingham was arrested and a murder investigation was launched by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate. The victim and suspect were known to each other.

Gillingham Man Charged With Murder

On Sunday 19 January, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a charge of murder against Mr Bowler. He is remanded in custody and will appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 20 January.
