A large section of Dartford heath is under Police lockdown this evening.
Concerned residents say officers from Kent Police started to arrive at the Rochester Way site around lunchtime on Friday 6th December 2019 .
Uniformed officers started taping off a large section of the woodland and the pathway that runs parallel with it.
Officers from the Kent Major and CID are understood to be in charge of the case.
Three Patrol cars and a number of officers still remain.
A spokesman for Kent police said: Police investigating the rape that is reported to have happened on Thursday, 5 December 2019 have cordoned off part of Dartford Heath as part of their investigation.
It is reported that in the early hours of Thursday a woman was in woodland near Rochester Way, Dartford when she was pushed to the ground and raped.
