Blaze rips through Travelodge in Brentford

Guests and staff at the Travelodge Hotel on High Street, #Brentford have been evacuated as the building is engulfed in flames.

 

Flames have ripped through the two floors as fire crews from across London battle to control the blaze. The whole of a bin room on the ground floor is alight. The fire spread to an adjacent hotel of five floors. Firefighters are carrying out a systematic search of the hotel.

A spokesman for the London service said:

We have sent Ten fire engines and around 72 firefighters are dealing with a hotel fire on High Street in Brentford.

Station Commander Nathan Hobson who is at the scene said:

“The whole of in a single storey bin room on the ground floor is alight. The fire spread to an adjacent hotel of five floors.

“Firefighters are carrying out a systematic search of the hotel.

“The Brigade’s Control took seventeen 999 calls to the visible blaze.”

The Brigade was called at 2.52am. Fire crews from Chiswick and surround fire stations are at the scene. The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
