Man arrested over West Ealing Murder

Detectives investigating a fatal stabbing in West Ealing have made an arrest.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on Monday, 2 December on suspicion of murder – he remains in custody at a north London police station.

Police were called at 1.18am on Sunday, 24 November to reports of an injured man outside West Ealing station, Drayton Green Road, W13.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. At the scene, a 26-year-old man, now formally identified as Mehran Heydari, was found in a vehicle suffering from a stab wound.

Despite the efforts of medics, Mehran was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives believe that Mehran was injured in an altercation at The Avenue, just 100 metres from the railway station where the Mini he was driving crashed.

His next of kin have been informed and the investigation is being led by homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.

A post-mortem examination held at Fulham Mortuary on Sunday, 24 November, found the cause of death to be a single stab wound to the heart.

Enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing.
