Kent shop keeper has taken to naming and shaming thieves after local police said that they were too busy to investigate thefts from his shop

A Kent shop keeper has taken to naming and shaming thieves after local police said that they were too busy to investigate thefts from his shop.  The owner of the Londis in Coxheath, Maidstone has issued a warning to thieves  that the will publish their faces on his galley within the shop window

.

We had well over  40 thefts the past few months and the value is mounting up sometime it can he half the days takings.

My customers love it and think the this a great way to stop people from stealing from the shop.

I am going to continue putting up the faces. One person has complained saying that it’s unfair  but I think it’s unfair that they target my business.

Sham Bains  said: “Anybody who takes our goods without permission is a thief. They have no right to remove them.

“The police won’t do anything if the losses are less than £100, but for a shop like us that might be half a day’s takings.” At one point I thought we may have to  have an award of the thief of the week”
