Margate murder probe launched after man is bludgeoned to death

Kent Police have launched a murder inquiring after a man was brutally bludgeoned to death in a flat in Margate.

Emergency services were called just after 2am in the early hours of Saturday morning to the new build property on Sandhurst Place. One resident has made claim that she heard screaming before the arrival of armed Police and ambulance.

Specialist scene of crime officers and search teams have been search the Aldi Car parking and surrounding properties for the weapon used by the man who has since been arrested by Police.


A spokespeson for Kent Police said :Kent Police was called to a property in Sandhurst Place, Margate at 2am on Saturday 12 October, 2019.
Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where a man in his 40s was declared deceased.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. Both parties were known to each other.

An investigation to establish the circumstances of the incident has been launched by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate and officers currently remain at the scene while enquiries continue.
