M3 motorway closed Westbound following multi vehicle collision

The M3 in Hampshire is closed westbound between J7 and J8 due to a road traffic collision involving multiple vehicles.

Hampshire Police and emergency services are currently in attendance.

Road users are advised to follow the “Solid Triangle” diversion symbol.

From the M3 westbound, leave at junction 7. At the roundabout, use the 3rd exit and join the A30 link road towards Basingstoke. At the following junction, turn left onto the A30 towards Winchester. Continue for approximately 2 miles, until reaching a T junction with the A30 link road to the A303. Turn right onto the A30 link road and follow to the A303. Merge with the A303 westbound carriageway and continue for approximately 6 miles, to the A34 Bullington Cross interchange. Leave the A303 and follow to a T junction. Turn left and follow to a roundabout. Use the 2nd exit and join the A34 southbound, towards Winchester. Continue for approximately 8 miles, to the M3 junction 9 interchange. Use the 3rd exit to rejoin the M3 westbound.
Update on the Northbound: #M3 Northbound – All lanes currently being heldbetween J8/A303 Popham and J7/A30 Dummer due to the ongoing collision on the southbound carriageway, approx 1 hour delay from Winchester Services.
