Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision in Feltham

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision in Feltham.

Officers were called at approximately 7.05pm on Saturday, 10 August to reports of a collision involving a motor scooter in Bedfont Lane, near the junction with Glebelands Road.

It is not believed any other vehicles were involved.

London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene and a 14-year-old boy – the passenger on the scooter – was pronounced dead at the scene.

Next of kin have been informed and formal identification has taken place. A post mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

The rider of scooter – a 17-year-old boy – did not remain on scene, taking the vehicle with him.

He subsequently attended a west London hospital for treatment to injuries. He was discharged and arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in early September.

Neither the boy riding the scooter or the passenger were wearing crash helmets.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit investigate and ask any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam or mobile phone footage, to contact them on 0208 543 5157.
