Deal burglar wanted by police

A computer-generated image of a man has been released by detectives investigating a Deal burglary.

During the daytime on Thursday 27 June 2019 a man visited a house in Dola Avenue claiming to be checking the water supply. A quantity of cash was reported stolen.

At 4pm on Thursday 4 July 2019, a man called at a property in Pilots Avenue in Deal asking to check the water supply. It was only when the victim asked for proof of identification that the man left. Nothing was stolen.

Detectives believe these incidents may be linked and have been given a description of the suspect.

Residents are reminded to be vigilant, look out for their neighbours and be aware of thieves who use distraction techniques to carry out crime. Keep doors and windows locked, and do not let strangers into your home unless you can confirm their identity.
