Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Hackney

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Hackney.
Police were called to Mare Street at the junction with Graham Road, E8 at approximately 10.25am on Thursday, 11 July to reports of a collision.
Officers and the London Ambulance attended and found a female pedestrian, aged in her mid-60s, in a critical condition following a collision with an HGV recovery vehicle.
She was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Police have informed her next of kin.
A post-mortem examination will be held in due course. Formal identification awaits.
The driver involved stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.
