Murder probe launched in sleepy Hambledon Villiage near Portsmouth

Police in Hampshire have arrested a teenager after a 50-year-old woman was found dead in her property in the Villiage of Hambledon we can reveal.

Police and Paramedics were called to the sleepy hamlet on the outskirts of Portsmouth on Monday afternoon.

Officers were called to a property in Vicarage Lane, just after 12.40pm were they found the woman who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have confirmed that they have launched a murder investigation and a teenager who lives in the village has been arrested on suspicion of the woman murder.

Hambledon is a rural village surrounded by fields and woods. There are about 400 households with just under 1,000 residents.

The woman’s next-of-kin have been informed and a post-Morton will take place later.
