East Hill in Dartford in Kent remains in Police lockdown following a serious collision
Police remain at the scene and a cordon is present at both ends of the road.
One resident who asked not to be named reported hearing a loud crash just before midnight on Friday into Saturday morning.
The Kent air ambulance landed at in Hesketh Park around 12.25am.
A number of bystanders where witnessed crying.
The Route 492 is on diversion in both directions and missing stops between The Brent and Overy Street (eastbound) Market Street (westbound), due to the closure Routes 96 and 428 are not on diversion but may be subject to delay
Kent police have asked people to avoid the area whilst they deal with the incident
Kent police have sadly confirmed that a young woman has lost her life following the late night collision.
Serious Collision Investigation officers are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Dartford.
The incident took place at 11.43pm on Friday, 28 June 2019 on East Hill, Dartford, near the junction with Sussex Road.
A black Vauxhall Meriva was in collision with a black VW Touareg. A passenger in the Meriva, a 20-year-old woman from the Dartford area, was declared dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been made aware.
Officers are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision and have urged any witnesses who may have seen this collision or have dashcam footage of it to come forward.
