Police investigate Basingstoke Sex Attack

Officers from Hampshire Constabulary are investigating after a woman was indecently assaulted close to an underpass in Basingstoke.

We were called following the incident which happened at around 4.45pm on Thursday (June 20).

The 24-year-old woman reported that she was grabbed from behind and pushed by a man as she entered the underpass at the Viables Roundabout, on the Brighton Hill side.

The man touched her inappropriately over her clothing, before he ran off through the underpass.

The victim did not suffer any injuries but she was understandably left very shaken by what happened.

The man is described as being around 5ft 7ins tall, white, of a larger build and was wearing a grey hooded top and possibly jogging bottoms.
