Five teens arrested after serious assault in Canterbury

Five arrests have been made in connection with a serious assault in Canterbury.

Witnesses are being sought by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate after Kent Police was called to Whitefriars Street at around 6pm on Thursday 6 June 2019 to reports that a teenage boy had been assaulted.

Patrols and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene and the teenager was conveyed to a London hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries.

A 16-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl and two 15-year-old boys, all from Canterbury, and a 17-year-old boy from Margate have been arrested as part of the investigation.

Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
