Bembridge Lifeboat called to Seventy foot yacht to Medevac sick Sailor from the English Channel

The Bembridge RNLI’s All-Weather Lifeboat has been involved in medivac from the Clipper Ventures yacht CV22 this evening.

‘RNLB Alfred Albert Williams’ (Tamar All Weather Lifeboat 16-17) was launched on service at 11.20pm (Sunday 2nd June) at the request of UK (Solent) Coastguard to medivac a male crew member from the Clipper Venture 70 foot training yacht ‘CV22’ that was about about 7 miles South East of the Station heading back towards Bembridge.

The lifeboat made good speed to reach CV22 and 2 of the lifeboat crew members were transferred across to the yacht to assess the casualty. All three were subsequently picked back up by the ‘Alfred Albert Williams’ which headed back to Bembridge where an Ambulance was waiting to take the casualty to St Mary’s for a checkup.
