Arson probe launched after blaze rips through Titchfield car dealership

A joint arson investigation has been launched by Police and Hampshire fire and rescue service after firefighters were called to a blaze at the car dealership on Laveys Lane, Titchfield on Sunday afternoon.

More than 60 firefighters and ten fire appliances tackled the commercial fire in Laveys Lane. Crews across Hampshire from Fareham, Hightown, Southsea, Portchester, Cosham, Eastleigh, Hamble, Gosport, Romsey, Bordon and Andover.

The blaze broke out at Contact car sales that are understood to be at the centre of legal disputes over the vehicles. A proportion of the site was destroyed during the blaze and an exclusion zone was in place due to the risk posed by acetylene on site.

Hampshire fire and rescue service are now working with officers from Hampshire Constabulary who have confirmed that they are looking into the blaze that is being treated as unexplained.
