Emergency services were called late on Sunday after a sailor was injured onboard a sailing vessel.
Following a call to the coastguard the Needles coastguard search and rescue team where called to assist the Isle of Wight ambulance service.
The team assisted the ambulance service to extricate the casualty from aboard a the vessel that had landed at Trinity Landing, Cowes.
The sailor had injured himself whilst aboard and required being stretchered off.
The man was than taken to St Mary’s hospital in Newport by the ambulance.
