Someone must know who they are’: Woman, 71, in appeal to catch attacker

Police continue to appeal for information following an attack on a couple in their 70s in Stourbridge in broad daylight.

A 71-year-old woman was on her driveway at 3pm on Monday 11 February, when she was approached by a masked man wielding a machete, who threatened her demanding car keys.

The woman and her husband, also aged 71, managed to get inside the house, however they were followed by the suspect, who tried to attack the man with a chair.

He managed to fend him off, before neighbours in Stevens Road, Stourbridge, arrived and he fled on a red and black scooter.

Josephine bravely spoke out earlier today and said: “I will never forget the knife, it was quite big.

“My husband and I want to appeal for anyone with any information to come forward. We don’t want this happening to anyone else and we want them caught.

“Someone must know who they are, brothers, friends or parents.”

CCTV has been secured.
