A full closure of the North bound carriageway of the A3 at the junction of Buriton has been put in place following a multi vehicle collision.
Officers from Hampshire Constablary roads polcing are on scene dealing with the incident.
Other emergency services have also been scambled to the scene.
A local dirversion has been put in place and driver are being advised to use the A272 at Petersfield. Those currently trapped in the large queue are being turned around by Police.
The closure is likely to remain in place for sometime.

The A3 is closed Northbound between B2070 and A272.
Road users are asked to follow the “Solid Diamond” diversion symbol:
Leave the A3 northbound at the Weston interchange. Continue to a roundabout.
Use the 1st exit and join the B2070. Follow for approximately 2 miles through Petersfield.
Continue to the A272 London Road roundabout. Use the 1st exit and join the A272.
Continue for approximately 1 mile to the A3. Continue over the main carriageway to rejoin the A3 northbound.
UPDATE: Four vehicles are understood to be involved in the collision two have overturned. Critical care doctors from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air ambulance and a Hart team have also. Been called to the incident. SCA have not yet released details of how serious the injuries of those involved are.
UPDATE: As of 1pm this afternoon, the route is still closed, with diversions in place.
