A man was viciously attacked outside his home on Tempest Avenue in Waterlooville on Thursday night
Whilst protecting his property the father of three who has been named locally as Darren Selway, was hit across the head with a crowbar after masked men broke into the man’s work van.
This wicked and pointless attack has left him with a fractured skull and life-changing injuries. The man’s children and his wife witnessed the attack and have been left severely traumatised by the episode.
Darren was treated by paramedics from South Central Ambulance services and rushed to the Univerity of Southampton Hospital for emergency surgery to the fractured skull he sustained in the violent attack.
A number of tools have been stolen after the thieves made off with work tools and nail guns from the white Ford Transit van.
Hampshire Police have launched an investigation into the attack and are appealing for any member of the public who may have captured the men making off on their vehicle dash cameras to contact them.
Chief Inspector Alex Reading previously said: ‘We are carrying out detailed enquiries into this serious assault, which is a very rare incident in this area.’
Two of the assailants were white and thin. They were wearing grey hooded tops with their faces covered, and had their hoods up covering a baseball cap.
One of the two was in his late teens and about 5ft 8ins tall.
