Anthony Kimber of Lexden, Ryde Road, Seaview has appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court facing two charges of manslaughter and causing/allowing the death of a vulnerable adult.
The court heard that Mr Kimber is accused of unlawfully killing his mother by gross negligence by breaching his duty of care to Hazel Kimber.
The charges are brought following the death of his mother to Hazel’s death at home in Seaview on 31st August 2015.
Magistrates this morning (Monday) heard how Anthony Kimber failed to ensure that his mother received medical treatment or care in circumstances where there was a risk of death which would have been obvious to a reasonable and prudent person.
As Hazel Kimber was classed as a vulnerable adult, Kimber faces a second charge of allowing the death of a vulnerable adult.
The case has been sent to the Isle of Wight Crown Court on 11th March.
