Fire crews from Ryde and Newport have been called to Biddeford Road in Newport following a collision.
Crews were mobilised just after 5.30pm on Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters carried out scene safety whilst Paramedics from Isle of Wight Ambulance services treated those involved.
It was reported to the emergency services that it was feared the occupants of the Nissan Juke were trapped inside the vehicle after it cleft the rod.
It has been confirmed that no persons were trapped and firefighters have carried out scene safety.
The road remains closed at the junction with Combley Road, in both directions whilst the vehicle is being recovered.
