Just after 1.30pm on Wednesday an avid scooterist was given a final send off that he would of been proud of.

Hundreds of people turns out for the funeral of popular Sandown man Malcolm Butcher know as Butch.
The popular figure was often seen on the seafront with his pal Guinness the dog.
When Butch wasn’t on the beach he could be found near the co-op on Sandown High Street.

Here what Keith Carroll of the Sandown and District Scooter Club, has to say: “Malcolm was a true gentleman, born and bred in Sandown.
“He loved Sandown and Sandown loved him. he was real character around town with his dog Guinness we really miss him.
“Malcolm or ‘Butch’ would talk to anyone and always liked a good natter many people who visited Sandown would remember him. He was a legend.
Butch rode his scooter up until he was 74.

He was the world best talker the oldest mod in Sandown.
