Water main burst leaves Ryde homes without water

Residents have been left with no water and homes have been flooded after a water main burst in Ryde this afternoon (Thursday).
The burst main is on Ashey Road near to the Riding School.
A road closure has been put in place from the junction with Bettesworth Road and Smallbrook Lane.
A number of homes in Newport Street, Argyll Street and the on Haylands and Binstead estates have been affected. Man homes have low pressure on no supply at all. Southern Water says they are investigating reports of no water in the PO33 area but have not yet been able to say how many properties have been affected.
