Portsmouth woman to face arson trial over Sandown hotel fires

A Portsmouth woman has entered not guilty pleas to two charges of arson after flames ripped through and gutted two hotels in Sandown on the Isle of Wight.


Paula Skelly, 62 appeared before Recorder Marcus Pilgerstorfer who was sitting at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on Monday (January 28th) will now face trial over the two charges.


Fire crews from across the Isle of Wight were called to seafront blazes at the Tarvic 2 and St Moritz Hotels on 2 September 2018.
Crews spent many hours tackling the two hotels.

During the short appearance, Skelly was released on unconditional bail to appear for trial later in the year.
