LIVE UPDATES: Mcdonald’s Worker Attacked and sprayed in Eyes With Chemicals

A fast food restaurant in the centre of Portsmouth is on lockdown after emergency service have been called to it this evening. Mcdonalds in Commercial Rd in Portsmouth has been closed with Officers from Hampshire Constabulary remaining outside. Two patrol vehicles remain.
A scene guard has been put up by officers.


Fire crews from Southsea and Cosham also attended. the Hart Team from Southcentral ambulance service were also sent to the incident that happened on Sunday evening at around 6.45pm. Three Police officers remain on the premises. It is understood that a worker has been hurt after a suspected chemical attack. The worker has been treated by paramedics at the scene after chemicals were sprayed by a group of teenagers who carried out the wicked attack and ran off from the store. A witness who saw the foul attack take place said the staff member is a really nice bloke. I saw Alex holding his face and saying to the staff they have sprayed something in his eyes. I watched the two girls and group of lads laughing after they had done it and ran off toward the Painters Pub.

UPDATE:8.30pm Hampshire Police have been approached for comment

UPDATE:9.21pm Claims are being made that the person who carried out this cowardly attack is only thirteen years old.
A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘An investigation has been launched after a member of staff at McDonalds in Commercial Road, Portsmouth was sprayed in the face with a chemical substance at around 6.45pm today, Sunday, September 9.

‘It is thought the substance is a CS spray or similar. However initially it was not known what it was and fire, ambulance and police were all called to the scene.

‘We’re appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to contact us on 101.’
