A Malaysian Airlines flight that departed from London Heathrow airport just after 9.58pm on Thursday evening Destin for Kuala Lumpur is currently holding over the English Channel. The captain onboard the Airbus A350 flight has declared an emergency and is dumping fuel not far from Folkestone in Kent.
The new A350 is only four month and has developed a major fault just after taking off it is understood. Difficulties arose when the aircraft was above Maidstone Kent where it circled in the air before continuing on towards France. Once it made its way past Dover the plane continued to circle and reported a technical fault. One resident who watched the drama unfold took to social media: @MAS Your MH1 flight nearly just took our roof off! I hope all is well. It doesn’t seem to be climbing.
