Hertfordshire Drug Dealer who Jumps from Portsmouth Balcony Jailed

A drug dealer who jumped out of a window in Victoria Road North, Southsea, to escape police, is jailed for three and a half years.

Mark Maloney of Gaddesden Grove, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire was in an address in Victoria Road North when drugs related harm officers attended at about 1.30pm on 16 July.

He jumped out of the window and climbed over the balcony and fell three floors to the ground. He didn’t sustain any serious injuries.

Maloney has been jailed for three and a half years for possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.

Detective Nick Heelan said: “Our Drugs Related Harm officers work proactively to target county lines drug dealers who come to Portsmouth with the aim of selling drugs.

“This sentence is another good result for Portsmouth and shows how my officers continue to disrupt this type of activity in the city.

“If you have information about drug dealing call 101 or in an emergency, or if a crime is in progress, call 999.”
