Fire crews called to Isle of Wight Care home in Ryde

Fire Crews from Ryde have been called to an Isle of Wight Carehome in Ryde this evening. Crews were mobilised just after 8.30pm on Thursday evening to the Adelaide Resource Centre off Adelaide Place in the town after the automatic fire alarm was activated. The cause of the activation is currently unknown. Crews are carrying out an inspection of the self-contained flats and Daycare resource centre that is managed by the Isle of Wight Council. No signs of smoke or fire have been discovered. Investigations are continuing. The home cares for residents who require supervised care and some are suffering from dementia.
