Emergency services called to Northam Bridge after person reported in water

A multi agency rescue operation was launched this evening (Wednesday) in Southampton following reports of pensioner being seen to fall into someone water.
An RNLI lifeboat,Southampton Coastguard search and rescue team, Paramedics from South central Ambulance service and officers from Hampshire Constabulary were scrambled following the report from a member of the public that they had seen a person in the water on Northam Bridge in the City. The alarm was rises just after 7pm.


Despite an extensive two hours of searching in and around the area both on land and water nothing was found.
Rescue teams were stood down just after 9pm.
