Car leaves road after hitting Dog in Newport

A woman has been treated for a suspected dislocated shoulder after her car left the road in Newport this evening.
The woman in her 30’s was discovered by two council workers who found the woman trapped in her vehicle on Burnt house Lane in Newport on the Isle of Wight just after 7pm on Wednesday evening.

They offered the woman some assistants and contacted the emergency services and searched for the dog that the woman claimed she had hit. It is understood that the woman hit and dog on the lane and then ploughed her car into a hedgerow. Officers from Hampshire Constabulary joint Armed Roads Policing attended to the single vehicle collision. The road was partially blocked whilst the woman was treated and officers arranged for recovery of the dark blue Toyota Yaris. The injuries to the black and white terrier dog are currently unknown.
