Royal Navy bomb disposal experts from Portsmouth-based Southern Diving Unit 2 have destroyed a Second World War German bomb that had been caught up in nets put out by fishermen off the coast of Clacton-on-Sea yesterday.
The specialist team towed the netted bomb out to sea that carried out a controlled explosion this afternoon. It made quite a splash! The area is now safe for shipping and fishing
