Coastguard Rescue helicopter called after person falls and breaks leg

Coastguard search and rescue teams from Bembridge and Ventnor have been called to assist the Islands ambulance service this afternoon. (Sunday August 5th) Crews were mobilised by the UK Coastguard to Niton Undercliffe on outskirts of Ventnor. The rescue teams were mobilised just after 2.30pm that It is understood that a person has fallen and broken their leg.
The rescue teams are assisting with an incident at Windy Corner near to St Catherine’s lighthouse.
The coastguard search and rescue helicopter Rescue 175 from Lee on the Solent has been tasked to the incident by the ARC operations centre part of the UK coastguard with the intentions of airlifting the casualty. The Hampshire And the Isle of Wight air ambulance is dealing with an unrelated incident in the Binfield near Newport.
