A drug dealer who concealed cocaine inside his loft has been jailed after drugs worth £75,000 were found.
Stephen Durbin, 34, of Fleet Road, Northfleet, has been jailed for six years and nine months after he pleaded guilty at Woolwich Crown Court to possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession with intent to supply cannabis and acquiring criminal property.
The court heard how on 15 June 2018 officers from Kent Police executed a drugs warrant at his home.
Inside the house police found seven large bags of cannabis in a room which weighed around 1kg. Alongside this officers also found several smaller bags of cannabis, digital scales, pieces of paper with names and numbers on as well as vacuum pack bags.
Inside his loft further large bags of cannabis were found which weighed 1.25kg and 2.35kg.
Cocaine was found concealed under insulation inside his loft and a blue bowl which contained a spoon and white powder was also discovered between the joists along with three large solid lumps of white powder which weighed 375g.
Officers also found large quantities of cash as well as designer watches and clothing. Seven mobile phones were also found inside the house.
Durbin was arrested during the search and was later charged with the offences. He was sentenced on 17 August 2018.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Rebecca Veares said: ‘Durbin was not a street dealer, he was further up the chain acting as a wholesale drug dealer. He had a large quantity of drugs in his house which would have been sold and distributed further and would have been used to target a lot of vulnerable people.
‘I’m pleased he is now behind bars and I hope that this sentencing acts as a deterrent to others’.
