An Isle of Wight fishing trawler has netted a World War II bomb containing explosives off from the English Channel.
The bomb was found in the middle of channel yards from the Fishbourne to Portsmouth route.
The trawler was fishing in the English Channel when it swept up the German bomb containing explosives. Commercial Fishman found the bomb in the nets as they where hauled onboard this morning promoting the emergency response of the Royal Navy Bomb Squad. The local Fisherman Wayne Long alerted the UK Coastguard who have called on the Royal Navy after his fishing boat Double or Nothing pulled up the ordnance. The Fishman has left the bomb on the Motherbank for specialists to deal with the item
