Three arrested in drugs raid with Isle of Wight’s most wanted detained

Police have surrounded a property in Linden Road in Newport this afternoon. Four police cars and two dog van are at the address.

A number of people have been searched and three women have been arrested and a man who is also wanted for various offences has also been arrrsted they have been taken away in police vans to Newport police station.

A search is being carried using a drugs dog in the three bedroom property half way along Linden Road. A resident who asked not to be named said that a sea of officers descend on to the road just after 3.30pm.

It is understood that the man arrested is that if wanted Ben Entwistle.


Police have also recovered a red Vauxhall Vectra and a black Honda type R as part of their investigation.
The house that police are also conducting a search was the scene of a nasty attack involving a hammer

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: “Officers attended an address in Linden Road, Newport on Wednesday afternoon (August 22) where they arrested a 30-year-old man from Lake as part of an on-going investigation into a threats to life allegation. He remains in custody at this time.

“I can confirm two other people were arrested at the Linden Road address on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class C drug.

“They were, a 23-year-old woman from Newport and a 27-year-old woman of no fixed abode.

“They remain in custody at this time.”
