Travellers who have taken up residence on the Canoe Lakes in Southsea have been ordered to move on. It seems that their ideas of a free VIP ticket to the Victorious Festival have been scuppled
Hampshire Constabulary and the City council this morning (Thursday, August 16th ) issued a Section 61 notice ordering the families to leave the area.
The Travellers started arrived on Tuesday and Wednesday and the situation has been monitored by locals and a police.
One resident said that the police visited overnight and will be returning this morning with council officers.
Portsmouth City Council said: “Police have served a Section 61 notice on a number caravans parked near the in the canoe lakes and surrounding areas. today.
Officers from Council have been working closely with the Police the spokeman said.
