Officers from the UK National crime Agency descended on to the Isle of Wight and have seized a number of items from a property in Ventnor following a raid on Thursday we can reveal. One man has been arrested questioned and has since been released under investigation by investigation officers.
Officers from the task force, formally known as the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA), spent several hours searching an address in the town of Ventnor that forms part on an on going investigation.
Shocked resident have said that a number of items were taken away in evidence bags from the property. The people who live there keep themselves to themselves. Very nice people always makes a point of saying hello.
There must have been about ten of them (Officers search) They had these black boiler suits. It was if they knew what they have come to search for, It was all kept very low key.
A spokesperson for the NCA said:
“The National Crime Agency are conducting enquiries at an address on the Isle of Wight. This is part of an ongoing investigation.
“No further details are available at this time.”
The National Crime Agency investigate organised crime; human, weapon and drug trafficking; cyber crime and economic crime that goes across regional and international borders, but can be tasked to investigate any crime.
