Major response by Fire Crews to Fire on Datchet Road in Slough


Firefighters are responding to a major field fire in the Datchet Road area of Slough in Berkshire this afternoon. Fire crews from Bucks, London Fire, Surrey, and Hampshire have been mobilised to the incident.

Thames Valley Police are also working with the fire service and have put in road closures at Eton road and Datchet Road. Crew where mobilise just after 1pm on Tuesday 10th July 2018

Six fire appliances have been deployed and road closure are being out in place as safety measures. Be prepared for further potential road closures. It is understood that if the fire spreads it may cover parts of the M4 Motorway and a closure may have to be put in place

Advice from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue who are incident managing the fire is : Please avoid the area where at all possible.

UPDATE 2.16pm

Further Road Closures have been put in place at Pococks Lane and The Myrke in Slough, Datchet Road is closed both ways to all traffic. Smoke is also affecting the M4 between 5 and 6 with congestion along the A4 also.

UPDATE 14.36pm Road Closures remain in place Fire crews have surrounded the fir and this is now out.
