Police place Portsmouth flats in lockdown following serious incident

Police have told residents to stay away from Wilmcote House amid an “on-going incident. Armed police officers remain at the scene, along with 7 police cars and an ambulance. The third floor of the tower block remain under lock down by cops after they were called to the incident just after 8.30pm on Friday evening
Residents are being made to sign a sheet of paper by officers to gain access to the uneffected floors.

It is understood that someone within the block has been attacked with an axe and a second person has been slashed. It follows a disagreement at a get together with friends and it kicked off.

A neighbour within the block who asked not to be named said that someone’s been axed in the head and another’s throat slashed.
The floor has police all over it and paramedics are treating those involved. We have all been told to stay in our flat and keep the doors locked and to stay away from the windows.
