Power cut hits residents on the Isle of Wight


Hundreds of people have been affected by a power cut on the Isle of Wight.

A number of homes on Percy Road,Brownlow Road,New Road and Cliff Road in the Lake area have been without a supply since just after 5pm on Sunday, June 24, and may not have power again until this at least 9.30pm

Sottish and Southern has said the “unexpected” cut is due to a problem with the cables or equipment in the area areas.

A spokesman for SSE, said: “There was a power cut earlier. Our engineers are working hard to restore the electricity supply.

“If you are without power,or are experiencing problems with your electricity supply, please try resetting your trip switches or contact us on 105 for help. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
