Police launch Rape probe in Fleet


Police are appealing for information following the rape of a woman in her 20s that happened between 12.20am and 1am on Sunday 24 June.

The incident is believed to have occurred in the large area of woodland between Beacon Hill Road, Aldershot Road and Fleet Road in Fleet.

An investigation has begun and officers are making enquiries.

The woman is being supported by specially trained officers at this time.

Detective Inspector Penny Murray said: “We are carrying out a number of enquiries to establish the exact circumstances of what happened.

“We would specially like to ask those who use this woodland area for dog walking or recreation to contact us if they have seen any discarded belongings since that night, or if they do in the coming days.

“If you have seen anything suspicious in this area, please contact us.

“Furthermore, we would like to make contact with anyone who was driving along Beacon Hill Road between 12am and 1am on Sunday morning who may have seen anyone suspicious or has dash cam footage that could assist us.”
