Shopping Centre Evacuated as Fire Rips through Zizzi’s restaurant in Camberley

Firefighters from Surrey Fire and Rescue are battling a fire at the Zizzi’s restaurant at the Atrium Shopping Centre in Camberley, this lunchtime.
Emergency crews are currently dealing with a fire using a number of hose reels It is understood that the fire broke out in the ventilation system and has spread to the roof of the Italian Restaurant just last month the chain was at the centre of an international investigation after a former Spy and his daughter fell ill in the chains Salisbury venue.

Officers from Surrey Police have put in a cordon and the Atruim Shopping Centre has been evacuated. The fire broke out on Saturday morning. A number of fire crews from Camberley, Farnham , Egham, and an Aerial Ladder Platform and support appliance are dealing with the fire. Fire crews from neighbouring Hampshire have also been sent to assist with firefighting.

It is unclear at this stage if anyone has been hurt as a result of the incident. There are a total of Five pumping appliances and a aerial ladder platform at the incident. It is understood that the fire in the roof is now out. Nearby Pizza Express kindly donated refreshment to the emergency services who had been dealing with the incident.
