Fire crews tackle Telehandler fire in Southwick

Hampshire Fire and Rescue service have sent two fire crews to Belney Lane in Southwick near Portsmouth after a telehandler burst into flames this lunchtime (Friday June 15) The two fire crews were mobilised from Cosham Fire Station just after 12.15pm.

Eight Fire fighters are using two hose reels, breathing apparatus and a high pressure lance to knock down flames. Crews are also trying to stop the fire from spreading to a nearby pile of Silage that the telehandler was working. Efforts to tackle the fire are being hampered due to the remote location and the lack of water supply.
