A man who pleaded guilty to attempting to cause children to engage in sexual activity was jailed for three years and four months on Monday, 27 November, at Harrow Crown Court.
Suresh Varsani, 27, of Harrow Road, HA9 admitted that between 21 August and 9 September he attempted to cause a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, attempted to engage in sexual communication with a child under 13 and attempted to cause a child under 13 to watch a sex act.
He admitted the same three offences in respect of a child aged 13 years or over between 19 August and 31 August.
In addition to the prison sentence, Varsani was also given a 10 year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will be on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
He was arrested on 9 September following information passed to officers in Brent by members of the public who had been posing online as a 12-year-old girl known as Mollie Banner and an older girl known as Amber Jones. Varsani had sent very explicit images and text messages to both ‘Mollie’ and ‘Amber’.
