Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision on the M40.
The incident occurred on Friday (23/10) at about 10.40am at junction two of the westbound carriageway between the entry and exit slip roads.
The collision involved a white HGV towing a blue trailer, a white Volkswagen Caddy van, a white Nissan Cabstar and a black Audi Q5.
All the vehicles were damaged and the HGV left the carriageway and came to a stop on the motorway’s embankment.
Due to a significant diesel spill and barrier damage, the motorway was closed at junction two for more than six hours while repair work took place.
One of the occupants of the Audi, a pregnant woman, was taken to hospital for assessment.
A man who was also in the Audi sustained an injury and was also taken to hospital. He has since been discharged.
Investigating officer PC Richard Martin, of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing based in Amersham, said: “This was a serious collision which resulted in the motorway being closed for a significant period of time.
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any dashcam footage to get in touch by calling the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number on 101.”
