Police are appealing for more information about an alleged road rage incident on the A272 near West Meon.

It took place on the westbound carriageway between Langrish and West Meon at around 4.30pm on Wednesday, December 14.

The victim, a 46-year-old man, said he was driving a silver Vauxhall Astra when he noticed a white Ford Transit van being driven close behind him.

The van then overtook the Vauxhall Astra and slowed so that both vehicles stopped.

After both drivers got out of their vehicles, the van driver assaulted the Astra driver. He then got a metal scaffolding pole from his van and used it to smash a window and wing mirror of the Astra car.

The van driver is described as:

White
Around 5ft 8ins tall
Aged late 30s to early 40s
Of stocky build
Crew cut hair style
Wore a hooded top
