Fire breaks out in Reading Flat

Fire crews from across Reading have been called to Luscinia View in Reading. Crews from four stations where mobilised to multi dwelling property’s in the centre of Reading. Police have thrown up a massive cordon around the area. One firefighter has been taken to hospital by ambulance. Here is what we know so far Four Crews and appliances from @CavershamRoadFS @WokinghamRoadFS @DeeRoadFS & @WhitleyWoodFS where called to the incident that was persons reported at around 09.30 this morning.

Crews were committed into the ground floor property wearing breathing apparatus. Crews managed to isolate the gas and the eletric with the property. Police remain at the scene with the block of flats sealed off. We understand that the fire was in flat number 12 within the block on the ground floor. Crews used one jet and a high pressure hose reel to extstingher the fire. A search of the property was also carried out. It is unclear if anyone was found. Scene of crime officers from Thames Valley Police have also arrived at the scene.
